Bill MacIlwraith
William MacIlwraith (born 1928) is a British dramatist and screenwriter.
Born in London, he is best known for the stage play ''The Anniversary'' (1966) which was adapted into a film version released in 1968 starring Bette Davis as 'Mum'. ''The Anniversary'' received a West End revival in 2005 with Sheila Hancock now in the Davis role.〔Charles Spencer ("Hancock's Finest Hour" ), ''Daily Telegraph'', 27 January 2005〕
McIlwraith has also written for television, including 8 episodes of ''The Human Jungle'' (1963–64), a series about a Harley Street psychiatrist with Herbert Lom in the lead role. For the ''Armchair Theatre'' series he wrote several scripts which were broadcast between 1970 and 1972.
His situation comedy ''Two's Company'' (1975–79), about an American writer and her English butler, starred Elaine Strich and Donald Sinden. A later comedy series ''Seconds Out'' (1981–82), about a boxer, starred Robert Lindsay.
